Dr Sarah Whitaker

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist working from our Godalming practice (near Guildford) in Surrey. I also provide online therapy via skype or over the telephone if preferred.

In addition to working with people who want to work on improving their mental health, I also have a special interest in working with people who have pain and other physical health conditions. I have also worked with people who are struggling to maintain a balanced healthy lifestyle, taking into account eating and exercise habits.

My work is primarily informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness. I also use CBT and incorporate compassion focused approaches when it is helpful.

My Experience

I continue to have an NHS practice in chronic pain and balance disorders on 3 days per week and work with The Psychology Company on Wednesdays.

I enjoy working with people to focus on what they are struggling with now and look at the patterns of behaviour that keep them feeling stuck. We then explore what scope there is to make changes to these patterns that help them move forwards and doing more of what matters to them.

I am a member of the Health And Care Professionals Council (HCPC) the regulatory body for Psychologists in the UK.
