Several of the Psychologists within the practice offer online therapy enabling people to have psychological therapy sessions in the comfort of their own home. Online therapy can also sometimes make it easier to fit therapy into a busy schedule. There are pros and cons of online psychological therapy and this can be discussed with you before arranging an appointment, for example if you are struggling with strong suicidal ideation we believe that face to face sessions are preferable.
We use Zoom for online therapy as this is the most secure video conferencing platform available. Detailed information about the security features of Zoom can be found here. If you do decide on online therapy your psychologist will send you a link to download Zoom to your computer
This might go without saying but a strong and stable internet connection is imperative for online therapy as is a private and safe space where you can feel comfortable in talking openly, honestly and freely.
